February/March 2025

If you’ve booked your venue, then the next thing you’ll be thinking about is how to style it. With so many options available, this can seem like a daunting task, but the most important thing to remember is that any space can be transformed with even the simplest of details. Luckily, we’re blessed in East Anglia with some incredibly talented suppliers, so the world’s your oyster.

Begin by deciding on a colour scheme or theme for your day. Do you and your partner love the great outdoors or want to incorporate your favourite film series? There are lots of ways that you can run with a theme without it being over the top or tacky. If there isn’t a particular theme that stands out to you, opt for a colour scheme instead. Is blue your favourite colour? Why not incorporate the hue into your napkins, bridesmaids’ dresses and flowers, for example? Ask your venue for their suggestions on how to style the space; they’re the experts after all.

When looking for a venue stylist, the best thing to do is reach out to companies that have created looks similar to what you envision. Ask to see images of their previous work and read reviews from previous couples to make sure they can deliver what they’re promising. To help give you some ideas, we’ve rounded up local stylists and asked for their tips for creating an on-trend celebration.

Happy planning!

Heacham Manor Hotel

Heacham Manor Hotel was built in 1582 and has been operating as a hotel since 2009. This Grade II listed country house in Norfolk is only 1.5 miles from the seaside town Hunstanton. From the winding driveway, the property stands out for nature lovers with its beautiful grounds and surrounding 18-hole golf course. There are plenty of places to take those all-important photographs, including the 400-year-old Mulberry Tree (rumoured to have been planted by Pocahontas), the Elizabethan manor house and a quaint pond, which are all favoured by photographers for dramatic wedding shots. Couples looking for a sense of fun can also make use of the golf buggies for more energetic wedding photographs.

Heacham Manor Hotel has its own designated catering team who are the same chefs behind the AA Rosette Mulberry Restaurant. The menus are often favoured by couples and their guests alike for classic British classics with a continental twist, offering an emphasis on utilising local and seasonal ingredients whenever possible.

The Dove Suite in The Pavilion has a bar and private garden, which allows you to enjoy the space with your nearest and dearest. The space also offers a soundproof dividing wall and a contemporary décor making it flexible and suitable for a wide array of themes.

The team at Heacham Manor Hotel has recently reviewed its wedding pricing to make it easier for couples to budget for their big day. There are now packages from under £5,000, which include the ceremony, wedding breakfast, drinks package and evening buffet for 50 guests. You’ll also receive free room hire when you or your guests book the three Pavilion Suite rooms, which are located above the venue.
