June/July 2024

As someone who has only worn make-up once for my own wedding a few years ago, my knowledge is definitely lacking, and, much to my friends’ amusement, I can’t tell you the difference between highlighter, foundation and concealer! Luckily, our region is full of some wonderful beauty experts who know all the tips and tricks to ensure you look your best on your big day.

If you’re a bit clueless, like me, don’t panic. When looking for a make-up artist, make sure you read their reviews and that you like the look of their work. Most importantly, be honest with them. Whether you wear full glam on a regular basis, only add a touch of foundation, or have no clue where to start, they are there to help you. A good supplier will reassure you and give suggestions to help you look and feel like the best version of yourself.

I highly recommend having a trial before the wedding. Your trial will give you time to talk to your make-up artist, test out looks and ensure you’re happy with the final result.

To help give you some ideas, we’ve rounded up fashion and beauty experts in the area and asked for their tips and trend predictions to ensure you look amazing.

Happy planning!

Glen Lodge

Glen Lodge is a neutrally decorated venue filled with natural light that lends itself to any theme or colour scheme. The outside decking is one of the venue’s focal points, overlooking the Bawburgh Golf Course and Yare Valley, it’s ideal for outdoor ceremonies and photographs.

The Woodlands Accommodation Suite is a romantic setting with countryside views, a freestanding bath, a four-poster bed and a private outdoor hot tub. It’s the perfect place to relax with a glass of champagne under the stars after your special day.

All of the catering at Glen Lodge is provided by the in-house team, which aims to offer a vast selection of high-quality food.

Those of you looking for an outdoor ceremony can say your vows under the veranda (weather permitting).

With stunning wooden beams, a stone feature wall and rustic wooden floors, the Barnard Suite is a blank canvas with endless possibilities for you to dress it in your desired colours and decorations. The room has a bar stocking a wide variety of drinks and air conditioning for the summer months. There is also an optional partitioning wall, so you can separate the space if required.

Leading off from the Barnard Suite is the conservatory area, which is ideal for friends and family who want to take a quiet moment away from the dancefloor or for you to display sweet tables, photo booths and present tables.

Alongside the Woodlands Accommodation Suite, there are four double rooms for your guests to stay in; these can be made into twin rooms or have an additional child bed or cot added for families.
