Bridal designer Sabina Motasem wins Marie Claire Award
Bridal designer Sabina Motasem wins the 2023 Marie Claire Sustainability Award for the second year in a row. Sabina Motasem, who founded the label in 2006 says, "To say we are completely blown away is an understatement. We're on a mission to prove beautiful design AND regenerative sustainability can seamlessly go together." Sabina has continued to make workwear tops for Smartworks from silky off-cuts and now transforming more waste fabrics into baby clothes for a refugee charity called AFRIL to further reduce the brands carbon footprint and have zero waste. And that's not all – all plastic zips have been removed, care labels are made with GOTS-certified (organic) materials and dress covers are now beautifully home-made with no zips. All old samples get regularly donated to ethical bridal outlet, Brides Do Good too.
